Not only in summer, but especially in winter, the Pitztal Valley is the Mecca for alpinists. Skiers appreciate the versatility of the Pitztal ski tour offers and the reliability of snow. Both the Rifflsee lift and the Pitztal glacier lift connect to a beautiful touring area and shorten the climb. Alongside the Wildspitze at 3,774 m, which is best reached from the Pitztal glacier ski area during the winter, there are many other attractive tour destinations of all levels of difficulty. The left Fernerkogel, K2, Wurmtalerkopf, Rostizkogel, Brochkogel, or Petersenspitze with more than 3,000 meters will fill the hearts of our visitors with enthusiasm. There are also beautiful touring destinations in the direct vicinity of the Biohotel, such as the Rosskopf, 2,305 meters. Tip: The tour is a safe and enjoyable experience when accompanied by a Pitztal mountain and ski guide.
The Pitztal Valley enjoys an excellent reputation among ice climbers. The 45 waterfalls in the Pitztal Valley freeze to impressive icefalls during winter and offer numerous climbing trails. Ice climbing is an activity for beginners, too! The Eis Total Festival, which is run by professional mountain guides, is the perfect opportunity to get a taste of what's on offer. The easily accessible Taschach Gorge or the Kitzgarten Gorge offer ice climbing routes of varying degrees of difficulty. There are also two popular ice-climbing spots in Stillebach directly behind the Biohotel: Klockefall and Luibis.
